Hornsund: Brepollen

Der Brepollen ist die innerste Bucht im Hornsund. Bis ins 20. Jahrhundert hinein existierte sie gar nicht, denn sie war komplett von den umliegenden Gletschern ausgefüllt. Diese haben sich mittlerweile so stark zurückgezogen, dass der Brepollen heute recht weitläufig ist.

Ausblick nach Osten und Süden vom Cholmaksla, dem moränenbedeckten Rücken, der sich vom Berg Mezenryggen aus nach Süden in den Brepollen (innerster Hornsund) erstreckt. Links und Mitte: der Hornbreen (-gletscher), rechts hinten der Mendeleevbreen.
